Hey all,
here's the setup: I have Open Office running on my Ubuntu box. I have a
bunch of short .avi film clips. I wanted to use OO's Impress to make a
simple slideshow ... you know the drill, a couple of cheezy slides, Hi
All, Wish You Were Here, Merry Christmas From ... and then the various
film clips.
In Impress, it was very easy! -- just create a slide with a title
("Auntie Em and Toto") and insert the film clip as an object into the
slide. Set the timing for the slide to be 2-3 seconds longer than the
time on the film clip, which allows for cutesy special effects.
Stitch those together, and you have a nice, simple, cute, kind of movie
for folks, that can be put on a CD.
Major Bummer Time: recipients are Windows-only.
So OO to the rescue? You can do a "save as..." and save it as a .ppt
document. There is only one little catch -- it loses the embedded
videos! (which was the whole point)
Anyone got any quick-and-dirty fixes? This CD is supposed to be in the
mail in double-short-time to get somewhere in time for Santie Claws!
Any and all suggestions greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Theresa
