Have to jump in on this as there is so much rubbish being
spoken about by the non informed. The police use a round
developed by a group PSDB (scientists) who developed a
semi jacket semi was cutter designed to dump its energy
into the body and NOT to exit. It works well I speak from
experience.

The 9mm loads aren't semi-wadcutters, they used to use
.38 semi-wadcutters, and I don't care what the PSDB
say frankly, because which company is it that makes a
load to their exact specification anyway? And have
the PSDB convinced all the gun makers to tune their
guns for it? Is the Winchester 95gr JSP load the Met
used to PSDB specs? (If it is, God help us).

I would love to see this PSDB specification in detail,
because like I've said all the 9mm JSP loads I have
ever used have been utter garbage. I just cannot
believe for a second that the PSDB have come up with
a JSP load in 9mm that is remotely equivalent to
the 9mm JHPs used in the US, because the politicians
there are just as sensitive to this "dum dum" nonsense
as well. JHPs there have been developed in large part
the hard way, i.e. analysing thousands of police
shootings.

I don't know the PSDB, but I find it exceptionally
difficult to believe some boffins poking around in
a lab in a country with a dozen police shootings
a year know better than the ballisticians in the
country with more police shootings than all European
countries put together.

What is your experience based on? .38 or 9mm?

Steve.
