You should contact the head of each and aske them about their philosophy of
instruction and how they think about the issue of self defense.

I have not attended Gunsite, and they are back to the Cooper style, if I read
the magazines correctly.

Thunder Ranch has come highly recommended by several of my friends. However,
they were intrigued about the shooting house. I am not an expert on clearing
houses, but from paintball games, I think if it is dark and you are hidden,
you have all the advantages in that game.

I have attended the free machine gun course at the Front Sight academy in Las
Vegas. First, it is a tremendous facility, and the courses were run very
professionally. Every instructor (one per three or four students) could, on
demand, demonstrate every technique and do it perfectly. They are also
starting a planned shooting community, so be prepared to see the show ;-) (it
is pretty interesting) They also have a place in California.

So, from what I have see, any of these will give you good, professional
instruction. I'd pick the one that gives the most shooting and whose
philolosphy matches yours. If you have lots of time and money, then go to
all of them!

Have fun!

Scott
