I'm happy for this to be applied if I can "opt out" of it in
.darcs/defaults.

I've found that I can abort by simply quitting my editor and then
immediately hitting ^C (killing Darcs).  Because msmtp does not exit
until it has finished uploading the mail to a remote SMTP server, I have
plenty of time to type ^C.
