thx :)

yes, lots of usability features in DT have come with trial and errors, the
first UI being a great feature with a poor UI, next version having a good
UI with annoying quirks, and the third iteration having a good UI.

our module organisation has greatly improved in the past couple of years
with features like favorites and grouping and there is probably more we can
do in that area. However I don't think this particular thread is going in
the right direction

* reordering modules without reordering the pipe will be extremely
confusing and I believe the people asking for it don't realize how
confusing this would be. my example above is still quite simple, but this
order thing has implications everywhere (nose removal, the way blendif
works etc...) Not having the stack "pushed in your face" would lead to huge
confusion, in particular for ADVANCED users that would not be able to
effectively predict the effect of the various plugins, and everybody
becomes an advanced user eventuallyt.
* reordering the pipeline is a definite no. The pipeline is optimized for
image quality which is a core value of DT. Each change in colorspace has a
huge cost in quantification which is what is responsible for most
post-treatment artifacts, something we avoid at all costs.

I really think that this workflow optimisation is flying in the face of
general usability. I am sure there is a way to make our module UI better,
but that's not it.

As for the "beginner mode" it has been suggested multiple times, but so far
nobody has coded anything like that. It's a huge amount of work and lot of
maintainence so unless someone volunteers, it won't happen
