"A good reason!"(TM!)

I transfer my photos via a card reader and direct file access using mc,
add gps data using gpsPhoto via a script, change the file date to the
"creation date", and rename the files the their date and camera generated
file name via a script.

I use exiv2 instead of exiftool merely for the speed difference.

I use darktable to process my photos, not as a file manager.
