I use digikam since 2004 as hoppyist, but didn't took care on any 'workflow'. Starting processing RAWs in darktable last year, I quickly noticed that having RAWs and exported JPGs in digikam is a nightmare. So I seppareted them into folders whereby I don't manage my RAWs with digikam. I sort, rate, process and tag my RAWs with darktable and collect the exports in digikam, don't using the xmp files in digikam. digikam reads the meta data from the exported images well enough. Doing a kind of DAM in darktable means you don't loose information, if you process a RAW again. > I can imagine how the processing history > could be very useful and I didn't know that darktable can save same, so > thanks! for that information. If you are new, than processing histories are nice to have. darktable has many features to discover, which for me replaces any postprocessing needs. I tried digikam and gimp for doing some minor processing, but they didn't convinced me (slow and fiddly?/tricky?). Christian PS.: Many thanks to darktables devels teaching me doing a more propper 'workflow'. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rapidly troubleshoot problems before they affect your business.
