I think my other versions, before the nice one, show that the recovery
of the light values in darktable can show similar results as LR. Color
values are not reconstructed, but they can be rebuilt, e.g. using the
color correction module. Microcontrast can be added e.g. using clarity.

I think the modularity of DT is a good thing. I would not want to see
the reconstruction module, and the shadows & highlights module, and the
microcontrast options replaced by one automatic.

A reconstruction of color values would be nice, yes (even if it's
probably a lot of guesswork).
