Assuming disks last 5 years, it'd add up to 600 Euros. That's just
enough to buy four disks, which would give you 12TB in a 3+1 RAID5.

120 per year sounds awfully cheap!

Since he can mount the cloud drive, layering encryption above it would
be simple.

More importantly, the could thing does provide off-site backup. With
most of my collection I'm more worried about fire, flood, etc. than
about "them peeking".
