Hi, Has anyone considered adding luminosity masks to Darktable? For details of what I mean, see this tutorial for Gimp:

In a sense these masks are very "self-feathering" and halos are quite rare. Also, the effects on the image are not very sensitive to the modifications (e.g. one often has to modify the curve dramatically on the mid tones before the image looks unnatural). Just as we have parametric and drawn mask, I think it'd be great if we could add the option to simply select any of the 7 masks he has (LLL, LL, L, M, D, DD, DDD). One can then combine with parametric or drawn to refine further. I know we can select, say, midtones using parametric masks, but I believe the "gradient" from selected to unselected is linear in Darktable, and can still easily lead to awkward looking effects. I think these masks allow for much smoother modifications to the image.
