I had a closer look at the samples from dpreview. The original file has only a single image embedded which is marked as a "rendered preview or reduced resolution [...] raw" according to DNG specs (NewSubFileType is 1). We ignore those. The two Lightroom exports are looking horrible, they have "Digital Negative" as their camera so dt doesn't know how to handle them.
