Just to eliminate the simple stuff - there can't be anything on that line that would be valid regardless of the data return. For example

In reports where I have lots of subreports I am always throwing blank lines, despite having Eliminate Blanks, and I usually just have to find and delete carriage returns at the ends of previous section lines. The code is placed all the way to the left of the field and there is no text in the field. I deleted the report setup and redid it to no avail.
