Thanks Bill and J, It is very strange. There is no text in the line, no bold on, and the eliminate line if blank is all the way to the left. It is a simple report body list to gather addresses for mailing with an rv to select a group from the data base .
i.e. In report body store value in report variable1 skip record if 0 (false) is in report variable 1 Last name (A30;;T), First name (A15)(hard return) Address (A25;;T)(hard return) Elim line if blank#(A8)(hard return) City(A25;;T)(hard return) State(A4) Zip(A14)(hard return) I can add the # Line to the end of the first address line to solve my problem but this leaves the mystery of why the 'elim line etc' does not work. I deleted the report and started over and did a full clean with no change.
