Try making the "Apt or Suite" text a "Report Variable" ... if [Data Field] >
"" then "Apt or Suite" else "" endif. Print the rv on the report section
next to the [eliminate line if blank]

Just to eliminate the simple stuff - there can't be anything on that line
that would be valid regardless of the data return. For example
[eliminate line if blank] Apt or Suite [Data field]
would never return a blank line because the text "Apt or Suite" is always
to be printed.

Also, just check if this is the first line in a section or a subreport,
that you do not have anything hanging over in the previous section... In
reports where I have lots of subreports I am always throwing blank lines,
despite having Eliminate Blanks, and I usually just have to find and delete
carriage returns at the ends of previous section lines.

You could have a hidden space, bold on, underline or similar code. Try
backspacing from the field to as far left as you can and then apply the
eliminate line if blank command.

In Report setup, I placed an 'eliminate blank line at the front of
my field for appt or suite # and it has no effect, the blank line still
appears. The code is placed all the way to the left of the field and there
is no text in the field. I deleted the report setup and redid it to no
avail. Suggestions welcome, thanks, ColinL
