Assuming the "#" is a field name, not to be printed.
If it is text to be printed, the line is never blank.
So assuming the number is a field name, try changing the field format to
(A8;;T). I'm guessing the line is never blank because if the field is
empty, the present format (A8) gives you 8 spaces.

I can add the # Line to the end of the first address line to solve my
problem but this leaves the mystery of why the 'elim line etc' does
not work. I deleted the report and started over and did a full clean
with no change. I am running out of ideas, thanks ColinL

You could have a hidden space, bold on, underline or similar
code. Try backspacing from the field to as far left as you can
and then apply the eliminate line if blank command.

In Report setup, I placed an 'eliminate blank line at the
front of my field for appt or suite # and it has no
effect, the blank line still appears. The code is placed
all the way to the left of the field and there is no text
in the field. I deleted the report setup and redid it to
no avail. Suggestions welcome, thanks, ColinL
