Bit of modification required but DP running fine with Start up batch file on Win 7 Pro with Tame 6.0 on my notebook Modified batch file is @echo off start dp.exe /f5/p=3 cd\sales cd
Tame 6.0 automatically starts with DP no need to include it in path and 1st obvious benefit having tame running is window size can be set simply by dragging corners of the DP Window to the size you want. Only problem is the screen size doesn't hold on exit as I have it doing on Server 2003 (so the window opens same size once set each time). I'm missing something - I'll keep looking. Don I've yet to play with the one database that has incremental field in it but will do. Apart from batch file mod, setup is pretty similar to XP and shortcut to batch file works as expected I see there is mention of x64 Tame??? on the net not too sure about that but if I find out more. I'll play with this on my Video editing computer which runs Win 7 Pro x64 and see what happens. But that will be another day - its getting late here downunder. So far I don't see anything else wrong but my range of usage is somewhat limited on my laptop. Don 2012/2/14 Don Codling <[email protected]> So far my only problem with DP in Win& 32 bit is that I can't get a shortcut either into my start menu or my toolbar. I have not tried a databse with an incrementing field, yet. But perhaps a work around would be Ralph Alvy's recursive link, which is supposed to be better for most purposes. Although I might not have needed it. I initially installed DP in the XPM window, but somehow got a shortcut on the Win 7 desktop. It worked just fine. On the DPMouse problem, I think I found the cause. On page 20 of the manual, Application Layout Restrictions, the first line states: "Field boundaries must be discernable when the "cursor" lands on the field." And it is bolded. Well, the background color for bold/underline was the same as the field edit background, and apparently, DPMouse couldn't determine where the field boundary was. I changed the field edit background to a different color and even with the underlined label, the check box worked. I had been looking in the wrong section of the manual, so when I started at the beginning... Rich At 11:01 AM 2/14/2012, you wrote: What's incremental field code? How do you run DP on Win7 at all? I thought it couldn't be done unless you're either using a virtual XP window for it, or using DOSBox without the ability to print from it. _______________________________________________ Dataperf mailing list [email protected] http://lists.dataperfect.nl/mailman/listinfo/dataperf _______________________________________________ Dataperf mailing list [email protected] http://lists.dataperfect.nl/mailman/listinfo/dataperf -- Don Friedman ProfessionalRecords.Com LLC PRS Data Systems 205 S Main Street Pittsburgh, PA 15215 412-784-1600 - 1-800-PRS-FILE 412-784-1615 Fax ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Dataperf mailing list [email protected] http://lists.dataperfect.nl/mailman/listinfo/dataperf
