I'm running DP 2.6Y with Tameview 4.5.2, under Win 7 home 32 bit. I've had no problems except that I can't get my DP icon to show the "picture". I set my window size in DP, using the properties menu to set the font size. It sticks.

At the risk of re-inventing the wheel for some of you - I thought I would share my findings. Up to Win 7 32bit I believe Dataperfect with Tame (selected tame version to suit OS) runs fine. Tame would appear to negate the need to run in XP mode etc. Its probably internally doing that or similar within Tame. I didn't get as far as printing but would think DPspool would be the easiest way to go? Perhaps Tim or others can confirm that DPSpool will run OK under Win 7 32 bit. I did briefly try the old net use commands in attempt to remap printers - but unsuccessfully. I did find that there are different versions of Tame 6.0.0.3. I downloaded directly from Tamedos site to Win 7 32 Notebook for testing and found I could not get screen settings to hold on exiting DP. Subsequently found right click Tame Menus were different from Menus appearing with the Ver 6.0.0.3 I run at work,
(dated 2011 against 2010).
Transferring version from work gave me the familiar menus (differences are subtle) but still could not find way to hold settings.("Hold settings on exit" is ticked but greyed out). Even multiple running DP in the same session had each opening at the default window size. Suspect that although its a pain it's not a deal breaker as resizing is simply dragging a window corner to the size you want with tame running. I'm guessing it's a Win 7 issue that Tame doesn't yet cope with. Anyone managed to maintain window size and settings, apart from default ones, under W7? As expected I didn't get far with Win 7 64bit - but one has to try these things for oneself. Due to lack of need won't be spending any further time on this one. I've got too many DVD projects on Video editing Win 7 x64 box to risk the experimentation at this point. Googling did eventually lead to the article below regarding WPdos - dosbox and 64bit and other options which some of you with the need, may well find a worthwhile read. It does relate specifically to WP and discusses printing options. Whether or not some of the info contained within can be applied to DP will need analysis by someone with greater knowledge than me. http://www.columbia.edu/~em36/wpdos/64bitwindows.html#dosbox <http://www.columbia.edu/%7Eem36/wpdos/64bitwindows.html#dosbox>

P.S. just to confirm the adage "I can always learn" - I just spent a number of minutes trying to remove an asterisk that appeared after the word "cope" above - you know - backspace - delete - retype etc. - gave up, then before hitting "send" tried again - eventually found wiping finger across screen made the "asterisk" disappear.
I'm blaming Notebook screen size - can't be getting that old :-)

Bit of modification required but DP running fine with Start up
batch file on Win 7 Pro with Tame 6.0 on my notebook
    Modified batch file is
    @echo off
    start dp.exe /f5/p=3
    cd\sales
    cd
Tame 6.0 automatically starts with DP no need to include it in
path and 1st obvious benefit having tame running is window size
can be set simply by dragging corners of the DP Window to the size
you want. Only problem is the screen size doesn't hold on exit as
I have it doing on Server 2003 (so the window opens same size once
set each time). I'm missing something - I'll keep looking.
Don I've yet to play with the one database that has incremental
field in it but will do.
Apart from batch file mod, setup is pretty similar to XP and
shortcut to batch file works as expected
I see there is mention of x64 Tame??? on the net not too sure
about that but if I find out more. I'll play with this on my Video
editing computer which runs Win 7 Pro x64 and see what happens.
But that will be another day - its getting late here downunder.
    Cheers
    Colin
