That's an interesting variable assignment. I suspect you could omit the version
string. But you already know this, as you run Debian.
Just kidding!!
I am not enamoured of the GUI approach to Unix...but 7.3 is stable and runs my code.

Testing occurs in my "spare" time (2 young children at home) so although I'd
like to have a go, it may take me awhile to get to it. My goal at present
is to create a scaled down example (in terms of schema) and get some output
from DBI/DBD that is meaningful. The fact that the stock version of perl
works fine on slackware (Patrick tends not to "tweak" things) is telling.
Rather than muddy the waters with yet another rendering of perl I'd prefer
to finish up the one project. But I may fiddle with activestate if I
suddenly get offered a vacation or win the lottery (unlikely as my theory
about the lottery is that, mathematically, my chances of winning are
better if I don't play).
As a Debian user I'm wondering if you can help me with another issue!
How can I hack my procmailrc to prepend a subject prefix to DBI mail?
I do this for debian, but it doesn't work for dbi...
# prefix the deb_mail
:0 fh
