Jim, I don't see the fatal error you reported in the log. But maybe I'm
not looking straight, the logfile is linewrapped which makes analyses
difficult.

Attached is the latest log file, hopefully it doesn't have the linewraps

...the FATAL error occurs when stopping Postfix/dbmail...maybe I should't worry, but now that I have trace to leve 5 I see some othe errors also...

"cannot load modules/.libs/libmysql.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

...and,

"nfo:[auth] authmodule.c,auth_load_driver(+67): cannot load modules/.libs/libauth_sql.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
