It might be worth having a look at the findimagedupes program (it's a Debian package). This program builds a database of image "fingerprints" (I suppose you'd call them), and for each other image it finds where the fingerprints match to within a threshold it'll run a program that you can specify on the command line. Depending on what you tell it to do with "similar" images, you might be able to get it to do groupings. If nothing else, it might give some ideas on how to detect similarities. Peace, Brendon
