Parece que sigue el mismo sistema que la versión para windows: instala su propio actualizador que se inicia en cada arranque como un servicio.

Pero cierto es que ese comportamiento en linux no está tan bien visto.

Qué menos que permitir que el usuario pueda decidir si:

a) Quiere instalar el updater
b) Quiere iniciar el updater
c) Quiera configurar el updater

Así es. Va el código del /etc/cron.daily/google-chrome para el que le interese sin tener que instalarlo.
De más está decir que ha sido convenientemente eliminado de mi sistema.
Como dice el hilo, sería bueno que los muchachos pregunten antes de hacer algo así.
