Susan, Granted we are not using the lite version we get very little spam that leaks through. To say it never happens would be crazy, but our filtering is very effective with Declude. It did take some time to get it that way.
Some of the biggest things that helps eliminate a lot of spam off the top is programs like invURIBL and Sniffer. Both are extremely effective Declude plug-ins.
