This is my personal understand from reading some of their fuzzy license agreements and from what I heard what different reps been stating (everyone with a different story). You can run mcafee. If you have a 1 single license then you need to set MAXATONCE to 1 in your virus.cfg file with declude. If you have a 5 node liceses you need to set it to MAXATONCE to 5.
Once again this is just my personal understanding based on what a bunch of different reps said (important to remember almost each and every single one of these have had a different view) and also depends on which license agreement you read each and every product seems to have different agreements. But to ask for 1 license for every connection to the system that could possibly be made is ludicris. However 1 license for every SIMULTANOUS connection to the system is not.
