In truth, Delphi has been mis-managed from day one. They proved they could
build a better mouse trap, but they utterly failed at marketing it. When
going against MS, you have to be agressive and creative. Most people knew
Kylix was going to be a joke and did ANYONE think Inprise was a good idea?
How about that Office Suite debacle? Open sourcing Delphi would be a good
move IMO as a great number of the current Delphi users use it illegally
anyway. Besides .Net has essentially "killed" Delphi's future. Delphi is
still a good language, but without new blood flowing into the fold it is a
matter of time before it is a FoxPro, PIC or the like and there isn't any
money in that market for a major corporation.

Not so worried about this result. It is likely anyone purchasing Borland
would do so for their Java, source control or business design system.
Delphi 7, 2005 and 2006 will continue to compile applications unchanged for
the next 10 years much like FoxPro still runs at MS even though they have
long left the language to rot.
