My 5 cents (inflation)

Look what happened to Interbase which become Firebird after Inprise had 
Borland.  That was maybe a positive thing!  I just don't think the split 
in the development was so good after the open source part was retracted 
again after Inprise became Borland again because it confused a lot of 
people who worked with Interbase. Delphi is definitely a community 
project even though its commercial considering there are so many 3rd 
party components available.  It may be bad news for Lazarus which is 
also driving a "Delphi" IDE if Delphi became open source.
