My 2 cents: Maybe Delphi will be bought by some company that would make it open source using a double license model, something along the lines of Red Hat, SugarCRM etc. After all Delphi benefits from a very knowledgeable community, very capable of undertaking changes to the VCL, IDE or the compiler itself! This way a company would benefit from community effort while at the same time being able to make a buck by selling commercial licenses.
