The length of replies from Max and the number of the others on the topic we
have seen before (about a hundred by now ?) clearly convince me that there
is no problem with IDE. It is just all other silly packages displaying their
icons in a wrong way, as we can see them well on any pc/laptop/card.
To Max the educating man
I am glad you have time to learn about things such as why Borland icons do
not show up properly. Perhaps it is a usefull knowledge for some people. I
personaly prefer to spend my working time on pure application development,
otherwise VB people may easily take over inspite of that some of them do not
know the difference between bit and byte.
Alos I wonder if you educate your customers that well about the problems
with your software (if there are any of course).
Say if you cannot deliver on time. Just an example, it could not happen to
you, I am sure. Then, I guess, you would send to your customers a manual
full of technical details explaining why. You can do it really well and you
seem to have time (unlike noughty Borland). No doubt your customers would
enjoy the reading and would not turn to another supplier.
If my software does not work on half of of video cards, I take it as my
problem not my customers. Being a Borland customer I expect roughly the
same.
Delphi is great anyway, even without icons. Pitty only that new versions of
it are not that robust as D1 used to.
