This is right. They are in biology field and a even Crash Test Dummy can
do better with a computer.
Recently I had a dialog like:

User: I can't save the files anymore.
Me: Yes. Because your trial has ended. (there were lots of messages
informing the user that the program switched from full working trial to
Demo mode)
User: Why?

OR

User: What will happen after the trial will end? Do I really have to buy
the program?
Me: ?!? (this is why I decided to decrease the trial from 30 days to
only 5)

OR

Me: are your running the program in your personal computer?
User: Yes.
Me: are you running under an administrator account (do you have admin
rights)?
User: I don't know. Should I have?

And I can write a book full with funny stuffs like this.
Now, imagine how a user like this will react when Vista will pop up a
message telling that the program X is asking for administrator rights
and that it may be dangerous to give it admin rights.

I agree with you that Vista is a step forward when is about protecting
beginners against malware (even if it is small one). But it is also a
big step backward for programmers.
Seems like while Microsoft was too busy in its effort to protecting
users, it forgot about the programmers.

Right again! The real question is how long it will take to appear enough
knowledge and documentation for Delphi users, about Vista?
By the way: Do you have a statistic about how many users are using now
Vista? I am just curious.
