Identical problem happens here too on several XP machines, tried everything as Jeremy described below (including defrag) and still happens. Would love to hear from someone who has solved this problem.

Basically, Xp functions ok, BUT, when ever I try to open say a 1kb txt file it takes ages and ages to open. its take 45 seconds because I just timed it. The same happend if Itry to delete it, and even when I right click on the file !!! BTW this is on a local PC too !! I have search the net but nothing seems to come back. I have removed Office, turned off Virus scanner, end-tasked stuff in task Manger, and it still happens ! You can imagin this is NOT very productive ! Anyone heard of this before? or know how to resulve it? I pretty much have run out of ideas, and think my next port of call will be a pac rebuild....after just getting it. Its brand new :( well 2weeks old now. jeremy _______________________________________________ Delphi mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://ns3.123.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/delphi _______________________________________________ Delphi mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://ns3.123.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/delphi _______________________________________________ Delphi mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://ns3.123.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/delphi
