Leigh,
I gave them a project where they had to create a database with
three tables (indexes and constraints upto them) with Interbase,
Firebird or MSSQL. Then I wanted at least three forms for editing
this data. The rest was upto them. They had to use D5/6/7 and
could ask for help as long as they told me which parts were not their
own. Just like open book exams... its real life. What matters is if
they got the job done and they did the major portion of teh work.
At the interview I quizzed them about the project to ascertain if it
was their own work.
For the second part, I had 5 small apps set up with various faults.
They had to find the bugs on the printouts (1 to 3 pages each) and
suggest fixes.

Hi Rohit,
Just interested to know how you decided being a good programmer through
responses/CV? What kind of project you were asking to them do? Was that
really challenge project? How you stop them asking for help on internet if
you did not ask them do project on site with you?
Regards
Rohit
