dtlogin is on the way out and should not limit gdm's functionality.
(If there was enough desire to see this in dtlogin, we could add it - see
the changes in dtlogin that have happened in the new S10 look and feel
and the upcoming CoolStart project for proof it's not eternally frozen in
time, but increasingly the answer to dtlogin change requests is "Just fix
it in gdm, we'll be using only gdm in the future anyway.")
