Hello Thomas!
There is another aspect in this that I think we need to discuss and that is
the user communities in other languages.
Before we created the separate users' site, I had the ambition that each
language project would not only hold the GUI texts but also be the center of
an argouml community in that language. That is the reason there are users'
mailing lists for each language and the French project (argouml-fr) also
created a web page that was a copy of the main argouml web page but in
French.
I no longer think this is such a good idea to pursue since none of these
communities has picked up. Instead I would like to concentrate all users on
the argouml-users site (Forum and wiki). If there are other-language user
communities that will appear in the future, I hope they can find room within
the Forum and wiki.
Is this a good idea?
If you all think this is a good idea we should do the following:
- Remove all us...@argouml-language_code.tigris.org mailing lists.
- Change the web pages in the language projects to no longer include the
user aspect of the project. This is especially the French we page. The other
languages (Spanish, German, Norwegian, Swedish.) already use the home page
for project planning of the translation.
- Make all tigris projects become all-English (i.e. align the Project
Tools to be all English). We could still allow the project planning to be
written in the target language but the main language would be English as the
rest of the project.
