I see a lot of people who come from other communities (specifically CNCF)
who are more familiar with the term "maintainer"[1] and are looking to map
their existing understanding to our titles and roles. The actual
responsibilities don't line up that cleanly for the committer/PMC titles on
our side compared to the reviewer/member/maintainer on their side but
notionally the idea that "maintainer == PMC member" carries some weight.
