Filing issues has no effect, I've tried several times. I provide complete pages, upload them to CVS, file and issue, and they are subsequently ignored.Daniel, your changes are very much appreciated, and not being ignored out of spite. There are alot of things going on at once.
I know that the website project has 2 people that can make changes. No body else has stepped forward that was willing to help. There may be 3, I am not sure if I have access to change or not.
I know documentation currently has 3 people that are making changes, me, Dianne, and Gerry.
The tunneling in CVS is definately difficult to get most peoples mind around, but it is needed. Either we use SSH and tunneling or we move to Subversion and use its automatic tunneling. The problem is Subversion would problably die rather quickly with the amount of traffic and changes on CVS currently.
It may cause some problems with people trying to commit, but it is there for a reason. Security of the codebase.
If I haven't commited something, I probably just forgot about it. I usually have a window where I get alot of things done that have been piling up. I understand the frustration level of not getting something commited right away, it's not a matter of not doing it out of spite, it is a matter of just being bombarded by everything at once.
If documentation misses something, please post an email to the list, and it will be picked up by myself, Gerry, or Dianne.
All of the problems I have seen discussed in this have been the result of not enough people doing the updates to the site. The process to commit may not be as straight forward as standard Cvs, or as easy as ftp, but once you get the steps down your are commiting to the project in a "Secure" pipe.
Now on this note, can we get off of the this happened and that happened type stuff, and move forward with the project. If you have a problem with the project you can email me personally, and I'll take care of what I can. I have sent emails to Louis, to remind him of some changes, and I am going to step forward and help website as a commiteer so I can post changes as needed.
Please bring up issues that you have with the way things are going. This is a volunteer project, it is in the best interest of the project to keep things moving forward. If you feel something is being missed, bring it up on the list. If that doesn't work, email me directly.
Thanks to everyone that has been submitting docs and issues.
