I asked for access but it was denied. I was told that they didn't like giving out website access. I totally understand that if you have a large number of contributors, but only a tiny group of committers, then nothing will get done. That's precisely the problem here. The few that have write access for the main website are holding on to it too tightly. Even worse, they look for 7 layers of approval. This not only slows down the project, but also creates a greater burden on the PLs, which in turn propagates the problem throughout OOo. :-( The best way to make the project efficient is to distribute access widely.
