I agree most strongly.
I signed up to help long ago, and since then I have found it just too frustrating and too much overhead learning where everything is and how it works.
I finally gave up.
Hey, Jim!
If you want to help write documentation, we're doing it now at OOoAuthors. Give us a try! The first page of the site gives pointers to how to get started. http://oooauthors.org/
In summary, to get Started: * Join the OOoAuthors site. * Join the mailing list. * Request author role.
The page includes links to instructions on how to do these things, and sources of more information. The mailing list is full of people who will be very happy to answer any questions.
The docs written at OOoAuthors, once published, are then uploaded to the Docs site. This system is working really well.
Hope to see you soon at OOoAuthors!
Cheers, Jean
