@kevbrowndev thanks for all your help with this, I think you've made a really nice solution. I made a couple of small edits to the tests and in the React example to showcase/test the expected start/stop behavior. Everything looks great on my end, but please feel free to test more. If you are okay with it, I'd like to push the `autostart-honored-in-options-function` branch from your fork to this repo, squash the commits and get it merged in.
