Dammit … I forgot to mention something else I managed to arrange ☺ Applications to TAC are opening in the next days. If your TAC application gets accepted the Apache Fondation will cover all the travel costs for staying the entire week including the Summit (Actually being able to stay the whole working-week is a requirement for getting your application accepted).
Now you may think that others might be more worthy of applying but I would like to convince you to apply if money is what’s keeping you from going. In the past few times I have been acting as a Judge and part of the organization of TAC we have had several TACers that turned out being happy to attend a free holiday, so if we get people really wanting to get involved in Apache and Apache Projects, this is what TAC is really made for. @Piotr you have been really active in the past and it would be a shame to not have you there. So please reconsider. I would love to meet all of you guys I only know email addresses of. If we manage to get above that number, the LF would add some food goodies to the coffee break. If we are below the 30 they could reduce the costs by removing Mic and Recording. I guess that’s a really fair deal. So all of you who sort of switched to monitoring mode on this list … please speak up. If it’s only the usual 1 x -1 and 3 x +1 there’s no use in me investing more time into this. > > Chris > > > > > > > > Am 19.01.17, 16:13 schrieb "omup...@gmail.com im Auftrag von OmPrakash Muppirala" <omup...@gmail.com im Auftrag von bigosma...@gmail.com>: > > On Jan 19, 2017 3:42 AM, "Christofer Dutz" <christofer.d...@c-ware.de> > wrote: > > Yeah … well I would still like some other opinions. > > Thing is, that the ApacheCon was intentionally changed to having Core and > BigData in parallel to make room for a Project Summit Day prior to the > conference. > So I’m proposing to do exactly this. > > The good thing of us having a Project Summit as part of the Apache Con > would be that the Linux Foundation takes care of organizing, the logistics, > the Tickets and so on.
