I hope for playing around with more ideas here. Be creative!
Is it possible to implement a method that lets the end user (easily) choose his selection color on the fly, i.e. every user has its own preference and different objects might be visualised better with a particular colour. Something like the "Area/Style Filling" but only for the selection.
So You would be fine with e.g. the following: ...
I will look more closely to those scenarios. Here I will append a difficult scenario, where the objects do overlap. In this situation, some of the methods will fail. I will also show another interesting method, which I personally prefer (method III, but it has its own quirks). Especially for small objects, many methods (including mine) will fail.
method I: solid/ dashed border- advantage: should be easy to implement, as it is needed only to put a border/ change the existing border of the objects/shapes.
method II: drop border/ shadow - relatively easy to implement; not always as clearly what is selected method III: arrows to selected objects; more complex- one can more easily distinguish the boundaries of the objects because they are NOT overlapped by borders or ghosted
Kind regards, Leonard Mada
