The plug-in is better than nothing as long as it does not prevent a fully integrated import/export facility in Draw. Really its not much use OOo providing the lead for open standards with ISO 26300 and then failing to support the established open standard for vector graphics. If Inkscape can manage it surely Draw can too.
I heard at the OOo con in Lyon, that there are efforts done to find a way to find a common basis between the two open vector graphics standards SVG and ODG (and I'm not at all an expert in file formats).
I don't know hoy far this has been gone by now, but this is the way to go IMHO: We don't need two different standards, one approved by ISO, the other used broadly all over the world - if there is a chance that one might become part of the other, I'd like to see this happen.
