Hi Martin,

another thing - JRE is not localized into Slovenian nor in many other
languages, unlike OpenOffice.org (I guess Sun doesn't see economic reason to
do so for smaller markets). Also, Java and JRE are not opensource community
driven projects and community cannot help translate them.

OK, but this cannot be influenced by us (or in a really minor way).

In this sense - are wJRE builds still considered l10n builds and community
builds and truly opensource? I mean, then JRE should also be localized in
that languages, which narrows the list of languages to a much lesser list
than it would be with current l10n OOo builds.

I do believe this is a serious question that should not be decided only by a
single release status meeting but by higher authority body in the OOo
community - it has symbolic consequences and steers OOo in a different
directions.

You can try to communicate this to the steering commitee channel. Maybe they will discuss it then and make a decision.

Hi, Marcus,

I personally prefer non-JRE builds as do most users here, I guess. This
decision must be somehow Sun-oriented, I guess? OOo users should have this
option, IMHO.
If space is the issue, JRE builds are much larger, so it would be a better
idea to drop the JRE builds. Or JRE builds could be hosted on Sun mirrors if
JRE is the keyword here.

At least for Slovenian users I ask of you to build it and give us a link so
we can download it and distribute it through our own webspace, even if not
OOo-approved. Most Windows users here would prefer them. Then you can delete
it from your disks forever.

Hi Martin,

as defined by the Release Status Meeting on Monday there will be only JRE
builds (except for Linux 32/64-bit Debian and Mac OS) as we have not that
much space on the extended mirror system. Because we don't want a colored
matrix or JRE/non-JRE builds we have decided this way. If there is a real
need and still enough space we can upload some more non-JRE builds.

Best regards

Marcus

The mirror builds seem to be filling up.
I looked at:
http://ftp.rz.tu-bs.de/pub/mirror/OpenOffice.org/extended/3.2.0rc2/
There is no Windows-without-JRE install builds, but probably they must
still
be uploaded?

Hi Martin,

FYI

The upload of builds (Dev build, Beta, RC etc.) will be announced on
the
relea...@ooo mailing list. When the download is possible it's
announced
on d...@qa.

Best regards

Marcus

Wait, Rafaella, are RC2 builds already built and available somewhere?
Where?

 Dear Rafaella,

The Irish team has a complete localization but somehow we were
omitted from the RC2 builds at the link you give below. See
http://l10n.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=107057.
Is there anything we can do to get builds in time for testing and
3.2 release?

thanks for reporting! I've commented and reassigned the issue. If
the

RC2
build is not available in Irish (ga) will be built and uploaded.

Thanks,
Rafaella
