I recommend everyone to go through the docs to understand the policy and process, if you have not read them before. Here is what i could gather going through the docs : The natural destination for Lens project is TLP and sponsor will be Apache Board. Graduation to a top level project requires: - a charter for your project - a positive community graduation VOTE <http://www.apache.org/foundation/voting.html> - a positive IPMC recommendation VOTE <http://www.apache.org/foundation/voting.html> - the acceptance of the resolution <http://incubator.apache.org/guides/graduation.html#tlp-resolution> by the Board After looking at http://incubator.apache.org/guides/graduation.html#toplevel, here are the schedule and the tasks, I put down for the graduation process : *Community Vote :* (Sunday - 19-July-2015) : Send VOTE on dev mailing list - open for 72 hours. Send a mail to general@ incubator saying community vote has started. (22-July-2015) Wednesday : Tally the vote *Charter preparation :* 26-July-2015 to 1- July-2015 : Prepare tlp resolution: A suitable Board resolution should be drawn up by the community advised by the Mentors. Template available at https://svn.apache.org/repos/private/committers/board/templates/podling-tlp-resolution.txt . Choose a PMC chair. The resolution should be proposed on general@incubator before starting vote on general@ After consensus are reached on resolution, a VOTE should be started on the same general incubator list by a member of the PPMC proposing that the IPMC recommends the resolution to the Board. *IPMC vote on recommendation* start on 2- August- 2015 *Resolution to Board* : 9 - August - 2015 ( This is a hard deadline) *Next Board meeting* : 19 - August - 2015 Mentors and PPMC, please review the above and see if any thing more needs to be included.
