Hi Lenya devs,

does it already make sense to open a branch for 2.0 and start 2.1-dev
in the trunk?

I'm working on some quite fundamental changes to the menubar
generation (migrating from XSP to static XML), and really leveraging
the benefits without cluttering the sitemaps with selectors would
require to break backwards compatibility. Updating wouldn't be much
difficult for users, though. I'm also not quite sure yet if all of the
changes make sense, so I don't want to commit them to the stable branch.

WDYT? Should I start a vote?

Makes sense. Should we maybe come up with a roadmap of what we want to
do in 2.1? That way we'll know when 2.1 is done.

i'm also +1 for a 2.0 branch.

nonetheless, we should have a roadmap discussion rsn and try to determine
* which issues we need to address in further 2.0.x maintenance releases
* when we want to release 2.1
* and accordingly, which changes should be post 2.1 so as not to enter
another endless release cycle.

+1

unfortunately, my talk is pretty cheap atm, due to having effectively
lost two weeks and a conference i'm helping organise (in case anyone's
around: http://lac.linuxaudio.org). i hope to re-join actively at the
beginning of march.
is there already a wishlist in the wiki?

We have the 2.0 wishlist, most of the stuff is certainly not yet implemented.
