Hi Chad, Eric, *

both of you have different opinions about the OOo Mac port and NeoOffice.

That's your personal right.

If we would have to decide as marketing project, my (personal!) opinion is:

- We want to have our project to be promoted, not NeoOffice.org.

- Chad's page is not objective WRT the role of the different Mac programs. (citing him: "For Mac OS X Users, I *strongly* suggest the NeoOffice port of OpenOffice.org")

- With the official logo and the page layout he mimicries the official site, even if he added the disclaimer in small letters at the top of the page.

- But as far as I looked through his page this is the only point I have a problem with: All the other informations seem to be valid and promote OpenOffice.org in a really good way.

So I'd ask Chad to move the paragraph about the Mac ("port") to somewhere on his page where it can be more clearly distinguished from the other informations - it's his personal opinion and shouldn't be mixed up with the other topics IMHO.

As he has been allowed to use the logo and layout of our official website the Community Council will have to be asked to withdraw this right again. I don't think that Louis (the Community Manager) was aware of the Mac part of the page when he authorized Chad to use logo and layout - or it was a long time ago: before the Mac port became active...

Just my personal opinion...

Best regards

Bernhard
