and sorry for my late reply, but I have been terribly busy. Thanks to all who contributed so far!

Just a short update: Regarding the USB drives, we need to clarify details with the vendor. They have drives that are too slow, and another vendor is much too expensive. We're trying to sort out a solution, and I will keep you posted on any updates. "Emergency" plan would be to leave out USB drives this quarter and produce ads, T-shirts and another merchandising product instead of drives.

Regarding the design: Please, people, we need volunteers who contribute to the design of the ads and the giveaways. Anyone with skills in graphics please let me know. :-)

Regarding the ideas of the ads and the "votes" on what to do:

end users:
- Cor Nouws: "Latest office"/"Genuine office" advertising campaign, linking to a "simple" page
        * Repeat slogan
* OOo is Free, Cool (modern), Great software for text, presentations, spreadsheets, databases, drawing. * You can have a new release four times a year for free - not one every four years for a lot of money.

- Charles Schulz: "We enable participation. See how. OpenOffice.org"

students and teachers:
- Benjamin Horst: ads in student newspapers and in social networks, esp. Facebook
- Erwin Tenhumberg: social networks
- Alexandro Colorado: MySpace, orku, Jaiku, qq, Friendster, Beebop; also advertising that we are on this social networks

Ads in different languages, I fear, are not possible within this quarter. We should concentrate on international (i.e. English) ads.
