Hi Alexandro,
Alexandro Colorado a écrit :
Again, this is one of the roles of Education Project to create a flyer for Education. And if marketing project wants to help, this
will be great to work together.
Sure but this was done before the Education project had any sustainable ammount of users. Plus this was a marketing goal of promoting OOo in
schools.
Agreed, but OpenOffice.org is not a soap, and see the teachers and the
schools as consumers, is not the correct way.
Don't forget the first to convince are the teachers. And as professor
myself, with what I see, I am not always.
So just imagine what can think the other about OpenOffice.org, taking in
account the lobbying Microsoft is doing for them (at least in France,
this is impressive).
And you did send an email about it, so you were aware of the development.
I was (and I must admit I forgot). But I was not about the "finished one".
I dont have the time to go into rescuing that email but
the flyer was not very good as far as quality is concern.
Watching the current one (the german one, on the URL above), my first
though is, I don't see enough of direct relation with Education Project,
nor benefit for it. Plus, the OpenOffice.org Education Project aims to
create a bridge between OOo and Educational system, but I don't see that
message in the flyer at all.
So, to give my opinion about the current flyer, what we need to say is
maybe something else.
But this is my first eye on it, and I can have a bad vision :)
Last, for the design and colors, paging and so on, I completly trust
Stella Schultze, and / or the art project people, of course.
+1 : the idea of use a version control is great : it will bring
readability and maintainability.
VC is hard in OOo, people need SSH/Tunneling rights to access the site CVS, plus there is already people doing flyers with out version control
working great for them.
In fact, my idea was not to use either cvs or svn or whatever, because
it is simply not adapted nor mandatory. Just put a version number + a
date + an URL as reference, should be enough to provide enough of
information.

Thanks for the link.
.. was the last message for me this year, and time for me to wish you a
Happy New Year 2009 for all of you !!
