Hi all,
what do you think about creating a special kind of merchandising
articles to be sold at fairs, on the OOoCon or even online (coming back
to the idea of an OOo shop)?
My idea derives from the possibility to design personalized stamps in
several countries serving as official postage for letters.
During some Internet search I found this possibility in the USA, Canada,
France, Germany and Austria, while Great Britain and Australia provide
personalized labels attached to official stamps.
Pricing is quite different among the countries: Depending on the number
of stamps the additional fee (over the stamp's value) is in most cases
lower than 50 Cent (EUR) per stamp. Only Austria and Great Britain (for
business usage extremely expensive) are higher, in Germany only lower
number of stamps are expensive.
I'm quite sure that other countries provide similar postage
possibilities, but I haven't been able to search for them in their
language... Especially for Hungary (to send postcards from the OOoCon)
this could be a good idea.
If we can coordinate such an action in several countries with a single
design, this might be a campaign being able to leave our computer based
area and spread the word about OOo to people out of our present scope.
I don't know how many stamps could be sold on the fairs to come and if
it would be reasonable to order stamps for different countries -
therefore the risk is not easy to be calculated.
Do you think it is worthwhile to go on with this idea or should I just
drop it?
