hello,

@jsr 303:
i had a quick look at it and i agree with matthias (in view of the
annotation part of the jsr - the rest of the jsr isn't defined at the
moment).

concerning the more complex annotations of jsr 303:
we will have to introduce a mechanism which is similar to the
cross-validation mechanism.

the core of sev-en doesn't care about concrete annotation details.
if there is no unexpected detail within the jsr, it will be enough to impl.
a sev-en jsr 303 annotation module.

concerning external annotations:
there is the possibility to map sev-en validation strategies to external (=
none sev-en) annotations. also such a mapping is the responsibility of the
concrete sev-en annotation module -> the core isn't affected (see the
current jpa validation support).

in my opinion we should discuss such details within a separated thread.

@commons-[new name]:
i had some main doubts.
matthias and i talked about them and after our talk i've got a better
impression.

however, before i'll agree i would like to see clarifications and some
improvements of the current situation of the commons module.

regards,
gerhard
