All that said, I think that Sun Legal made a grave error either in
rejecting the NK language patch, or accepting the patches for the
other languages / writing systems / countries on the Embargo list.

Wondering if Sun Legal is going to claim that they have no knowledge
of those other patches? If so, then they need to explain how/why the
NK patch was "caught", but not the others.

OpenOffice.org may need to start 'Legal' project, which is supposed to monitor changes in US foriegn policy, submitted patches regarding to languages and OOo distributor etc. Sorry for being sarcastic :-)

A Legal project is a very good idea anyway.

But, seriously, what if North Korea is excluded from US list in this year and is included again in next year?

Jeongkyu, thanks to your several emails to this list, I think I'm starting to understand the complexity of this problem.
I am also realizing that my second proposal was not addressing all the details of the issue.
I also believe that while you deserve an explanation from Sun Legal dept (IANAL) this issue is serious enough to cause us, the community some problems we don't need to have in terms of public image and trade law. I will petition the Sun legal dept myself, but I don't garantee a quick answer.
Let's take this issue of this list for a while.

Later,

Charles.
