OTOH, I don't think this is all suited to technical discussion on

In the before time, in the Kingdom of Java, NetBeans was in thrall to Java but held the prominent position of easily allowing the first use of new features in Java. After the Java Kingdom was broken apart, NetBeans lost much and without the support of the powerful Java overlords NetBeans was diminished and scattered to the four winds. NetBeans found refuge in the powerful walled city state of Apache; where residents are only allowed commerce with those within its walls or with some who it explicitly approves. NetBeans has a loyal following, some who are aligned with Apache, and some who would remain in thrall to Java, and some who find solace in NetBeans' culture; they are a varied lot and their determination keeps NetBeans alive and growing. But NetBeans struggles to work with those outside of Apache's allies or even to accept contributions from those external to it through the magical portal. In the new order, NetBeans endeavors to compete and grow, to find its niche and regain its prominence; but it lacks distinction, and a clear path, and goals, and direction.
